Why do so many people have a hard time with spelling and Grammar (English)?

Easy answer - because YA attracts a cross-section of the entire global population (which of course includes a huge variety of educational and social backgrounds). And I'm sure you'll agree with me that this variety is one of the things that makes YA so interesting!
