Catholics is this true?

Veronica is not mentioned in the Gospels, and her legend grew up in the early middle ages. Nevertheless, there is nothing that requires Catholics to believe in the legend of St Veronica, and nothing that forbids Protestants from believing the story. In the sense that the legend is a pious and holy one, and presents a good example to Christians, there is no harm in believing it to be true, and certainly it is a good thing to contemplate the example of pity and charity that the story of St Veronica holds out.
