At what point do you start or stop intervening in people's lives?

It seems sometimes that maybe it's only okay if it's in our best interest, and we can convince the mes that the reason we're doing it is to "help others," because the majority of us are instinctively caring and do not want to see others in bad positions. However, in regards to your example, those women are willing participants in the culture and it is not our place to impose our culture onto others.
