I need advice on how to make my characters more likeable!?

well all you basically have are negative qualities about the people. how about adding some personality like maybe holly really cares about a sibling she has and tries to get him out of trouble because he too can get away with everything. but she doesn't like that because it is wrong. she can also a hypocrite like that.
