Scalp treatments, any affordable suggetsions?

I'm going bald, and I'm reconciled to that, but under the little hair I have left, I seem to keep getting acne like eruptions. Anyone familiar with the condition? Any recommendations that don't cost an arm and a leg (which would include a visit to a dermatologist, under my sadly lacking health insurance)?
